  The food was always fresh and tasty. I would recommend this Jackaroo school to everyone who wants a real Aussie farm experience.

  Two months ago I took part in the five days Jackaroo/Jilaroo school and I had a really great time. The horses were friendly, well trained and suitable for different riding levels (which is really good for me :) The staff was always nice and helpful. The work was fun and I learned a lot the farm life in Australia (mustering, sheering sheep, fencing, pasture improvement...). I met a lot of wonderful people from all around the world, the atmosphere was so good.

  I also read another comment about that school which sounded pretty bad and I don't think it reffers to this Jackaroo school, because I didn't felt a bad atmosphere at all.

  So here's my experience. I have a disability and before I went to this "course" or "adventure" we discussed this with the supervisor at this place. I arrived at the farm with the bus full of other students (bus is not WHS safe btw) we were placed into rooms and set up, no issues so far. The issues are when it came to the work load and the nastiness of the other students and the supervisors. I paid to come here and all they do is use you for their work. So I paid to work when with the amount of hard labour they had us doing we should have been the ones being paid. Anyway, because of my disability I couldn't do as much heavy lifting and hard going work as everyone else. At first supervisors were fine with that but alas things changed rapidly. One of the supervisors had a habit of hitting on every girl there and after my telling him to bugger off because I'm a lesbian he took to hating on me and encouraging the other students to hate me too (he also slept with students). Some of the things they would do (with the supervisors encouragement) were: locking me in my room while they had parties, yelling abuse at me, not riding with me, not helping me and being generally rude and abusive towards me. I was also a smoker at the time (as were most of the people there) and I ran out of cigarettes about half way thou the course and so did two others. They got as many cigarettes as they wanted. Me none, and as it's hard to go cold turkey I would get the butts. The supervisor called this "stealing" and would throw the butts in the fire so I couldn't get them, just because he was a nasty arse and I had refused his advances.

  So overall, this place sucks and I would say scarred me. Should be shut down because all they do is get people to pay for stuff they should be getting paid for.
